Required information

To make a quote we need some important information.
The more complete this information is, the more accurate the quotation will be.
All measurements will be carried out by our qualified professionals.
Here is an example of what is taken into account when making one of our creations. The first is an example of the dimensions and wishes of the kitchen and the other of the materials used.
Meubel design
We use technical drawings of the cuefurniture with the corresponding dimensions.
However, a freehand drawing of the worktop combined with a photo of the furniture and the following information on it is also sufficient.

-
Dimensions (length x width) – whether the top is arranged in an L or U shape, perhaps it is a kitchen island with a waterfall top?
-
We need the dimensions of all the elements that make up the entire top.
-
If the top is to be recessed into the frame, specify the length x width
-
The location and type of worktop edge machining must be indicated on the drawing with a dotted line (- - -) where the edge is to be machined: (More edge profiles are available)
-
standard finish (straight edges and corners, bevel + polish)
-
quarter round
-
collar
-
Place and type planned holes in the worksheet, for example:
-
hole for the sink. inset, mounted underneath or flush with the countertop surface
-
hole for the hob. recessed or flush with the surface of the worktop
-
a hole for the tap
-
a hole for the power/USB connection
-
a hole for the soap dispenser
-
recesses for hot rods (safe place to put your hot pots and pans on the counter)
Material

Type and name of the stone, possibly a photo of a stone found in our stone collection or a countertop you like on the Internet - we will try to choose a similar one.
Thickness of the material
NATURAL STONE
• Marble - 20mm, 30mm
• Granite – 20 mm, 30 mm
• Natural quartzites - 20 mm, 30 mm
ARTIFICIAL STONE
• Quartz conglomerate - 12 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm
• Quartz sintered - 3mm, 6mm, 12mm, 20mm

Execution location

-
Is the kitchen located in an apartment, condominium or house?
-
Floor?
-
Is the entrance door, stairs or elevator large enough to accommodate worktops?
-
Do we need to order an external lift and remove the window to get the countertop into your apartment?

The above information is important, if only because it affects the price of the worktops.

Maintenance guide for natural stone
Please note that once you have chosen a particular type of stone, we will discuss with you whether impregnation is necessary.

Why impregnate stone?
Impregnation is intended to clog/fill the pores of the stone to prevent absorption of substances. Some stones are more porous than others. Correct impregnation of the stone with proper preparation creates a coating on the surface and forms a protective layer. This is the best way to protect the stone, but not every stone needs to be impregnated. Some types of granite are an example, which are distinguished by low water absorption, acid resistance and exceptional hardness.

Is impregnation effective?
Impregnation is certainly worthwhile, but never guarantees 100% effectiveness.
Therefore, we cannot assume that the impregnated stone will not absorb the substance left on it for a long time. Especially at the beginning of the use of natural stone, the impregnation treatment is of great importance - later this activity can even be repeated at intervals of several years.

Find the right impregnating agent
On the market you can find a whole range of preparations for impregnating and changing the appearance of natural stone.
Below you will see specific points of interest that can help you find the right impregnating agent.
• for granite, labradorite,
• for marble,
• to sandstone,
• travertine etc.
Desired look after impregnation
• Eclipse
• Wet look
• non-dimming
• Functional purposes only.
• renewing - self-polishing and renewing function
Purpose/suitability
• for food contact - suitable for food
• for desired finish - high gloss / low gloss finish, matte finish and satin finish
• for fire resistance – surfaces near physical flames
Disadvantages of impregnating natural stone
Impregnating is not difficult, provided the area to be impregnated is small.
The challenge only starts when there is a lot of surface area, for example walls and floor in the bathroom.
Securing such a space can be quite a challenge and it is therefore recommended that the initial impregnation be carried out by specialists.
This is usually included in the cost of laying the stone.
Each subsequent impregnation can be carried out independently, but it is necessary to use specialized products.
The impregnation will need to be repeated unless you like the natural look of wear on the stone itself.
Effects of stone impregnation
Impregnation protects the stone against UV radiation, which has a destructive effect on the colons.
The impregnated stone must not lose its natural color. It is also important that it does not get a yellow tint.
Therefore, it is worth checking whether the preparation is only intended for indoor use or also for outdoor use.
Another purpose of the impregnation is to achieve the selected aesthetic effect. With some you can get the effect of "wet stone".
This type of emulsion saturates the natural color of the stone, leaves a semi-gloss and at the same time carries the basic protective properties of the impregnation.
For example, if you impregnate a facade too soon after installation, the surface will be "sealed", preventing the adhesive from drying out, which can lead to unwanted discoloration.
If you want the stone not to change its color and shine, choose an impregnation that protects it from external factors, without changing the color and shine.
Where to buy impregnation?
You can find good and proven impregnating agents at companies that sell stone elements or offer stone services.
For example, you can choose from universal agents that are suitable for most types of stone,
or from specialized impregnating agents for the most absorbent marble or sandstone types.
When purchasing, always ensure that you choose a product that is suitable for your requirements.
